We live in Erie and like to take a staycation from time to time at Splash Lagoon. We've come here 3 times now. The first time we stayed at the Comfort Inn. The second time we just went up for the day. The most recent trip we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express.
Really fun for myself my wife and our 9 and 4 year old. We went for two days stayed one night and that was perfect. Food and basically everything you need are within a mile or two.
nice waterpark. lovely and warm place for a little indoor vacation. between my sister and I our kids range from 9 months to 13 yrs. there's something here for every age and the adults are having fun too.
Have been here a few times over the past few years and this place is definitely fun for the whole family. The number, quality and variation of slides is very good for an indoor water park. The wave pool is also quite nice, however I wish it was a bit deeper. The addition of an adults only hot tube area is great and provides an opportunity for a stressed out parent to get away from the kids for a bit. The water park is conveniently connected to several hotels so no need to walk outside (especially in winter) between the hotels and the park. The arcade on the second floor is also fun and air conditioned so it's a great place to finish of the day.
It was a fun trip. There wasn't a whole lot to do and the only actual hot tub was 21 plus. Having kids it was impossible for me to go in the area and allow them to play nearby. The rides had 3 lines on one staircase which made it hard to form lines especially with tubes. It was expensive for what it had in my opinion. The arcade had a bunch of neat games. We did have a fun time the only real bad point we had was one of the people working the slides pushed my son down the slide and he ended up getting hurt. No other person the whole day pushed any of our tubes this guy took it upon himself to push my son and he ended up flipping over and falling off his tube. He came out barely clinging to his tube. We ended up spending the night in the local ER and he ended up on pain meds for 2 weeks unable to do much.
This is a great place for locals to escape to from time to time. Our experience has always been enjoyable.
Our stay at the Holiday Inn Express was the best of the three. We arrived on Friday and left Saturday afternoon. The park was clean, water temps were warm, and crowds were minimal. As my kids get older they are able to enjoy more of what the park has to offer.
