Having a great time on the Presque Isle peninsula. The proximity is what I most appreciate about Sara's. I generally prefer a state park type camping experience. The camp ground is a little crowded and tightly packed but very kid and pet friendly. The staff are helpful and nice. The bathrooms are clean. Showers are coin operated but $1 is more than enough to soak in the hot water and get washed up. If you're planning to explore the peninsula this is a great jumping off point.
Camping is great but camping on the beach is so awesome. Great therapy, can believe it's the ocean. Making new friends, seeing old ones, sitting around campfires, the kids loving every minute. Making great memories here that will last a lifetime!
The only place near Presque Isle State Park where you can camp, specifically tent camp on the beach. The staff here were very friendly. The beach was rather crowded to me, especially for a Tuesday, and there are no designated sites for tents. The staff told us the beach has gotten significantly smaller due to the lake. There are fire rings and picnic tables aplenty. They also have camping near the trees and RV sites too. The campground store had everything you needed from cleaning supplies to firewood and ice, and the prices were very reasonable. The bathrooms were clean, the showers cost money though, 25 cents for 5 min. The sunset was beautiful and worth the trip alone. If you're a camper, I highly recommend camping here.
I highly recommend stopping at Sarah's when in Erie. It's such a near place to check out. The atmosphere is very upbeat & the staff is pleasant & helpful. They have ice cream & yogurt & both are great! I get a yogurt cone which is peanut butter/vanilla combo & I love it!
The facilities are just ok.The sand smells like urine.piss.Presquil. however Prices have gone up. Other campers are miserable .There is only 1/3 of the beach left so everyone is James together too close..Camp fires allowed to be too close to tents.I complained about the camp fires being too close and hot ashes coming down on my tent.Nothing was done.The ashes burned a couple half in holes in my tent.When I complained I was threatened by to owner to be kicked out to never come again.Well I was treated so rude I will never go there again. Then my family all got sick I think because the sand was smelling like urine.Finally there was noise people screaming and caring on till 5 in the morning.owners did nothing to keep it quiet..I will never go their again I was insulted.Way way too crowed
