Definitely recommend for biking and beautiful scenery. The monument is a nice area to learn some history, with a view and shade. Free parking, restaurants are nearby and it's location is easy to access.
Very pretty park, excellent bike trails. Beaches are fairly clean. Some weird people but you get that in every popular area.
BEAUTIFUL area! We LOVE Presque Isle and have gone here for the past couple years. There are several beaches to choose from. Each one has rocks, sand, fish, shallow areas, wading areas, or little shops. It is a long drive around the Isle, but definitely stop at a few beaches because each one is very different!
Best & only real natural rec spot in Erie. Biking/running/walking path is nice & meanders along the lake & in the woods for a small portion of the peninsula's perimeter, but most of it is roadside, often with frequent vehicle traffic. Walking trails are very short & scattered but a few can be linked together for a decent walk. Wouldn't classify them as hiking trails. Beaches are plentiful & while rocky, have lots of treasures to look for & collect.
Ok nice beaches, a few great playgrounds for the kids. Many places to fish. Wonderful bike trail. Perry monument is a great place to visit for history. Lots of wildlife. Don't feed anybody! Don't touch the snapping turtles.. they get very mad. You will like the lagoons. Be careful if you rent a canoe. Snack bar at beach 11. Many restrooms. Have fun.
Beautiful park! Bonus is that admission to the park is completely free. Lots of well cared for walking trails along the water. Lots of free parking available in multiple locations around the park. The traffic is fairly heavy on the roads around the park and there were quite a few dump trucks - I believe they are continually working on preserving the beach - but overall, the park is amazing and we hope to visit it again in the future!
