The was very old fashioned train station looking. The outside actually looks like an old time railroad station. The interior has long wooden pews that were quite uncomfortable. Tastefully framed pictures of trains adorn the walls. The main room was very clean. It was also very warm inside the terminal which would not have been so bad had it been really cold outside. Overall a long time waiting for the train but it was OKAY.
The guy who worked there was extremely friendly and helpful. He kept the place clean and let us know where the train was. The place could use some updating but was not bad. Train ran late but we were kept informed of it's whereabouts.
Staff is very nice and they keep it very clean.
The person behind the window was very kind. He informed us of everytime the train was going to be late. There were three separate delays. Not his fault.
I'm pretty disappointed that the amtrak is only open certain hrs I was looking to buy a ticket and explore but it's not going to happen with the hrs that are limited
UPDATE: The walkway and interior have gotten a facelift, and it is not nearly as dismal as when this review was originally written. Thanks Amtrak, for making an important local transportation outlet look decent. Disappointingly dismal concrete pathway leading to the depot room was in a state of disrepair when there most recently Jan. 2016. Maybe it's better now. What a contrast when viewed next to the beautifully restored Union depot, which encompasses the rest of the building. The waiting room is a nice breath of the past with the old-fashioned pew-like wooden benches.
