We've been patients at Healthy Families for over 15 years - with Dr. Linda Lietzinger and Dr. Cary Petersen - and have always felt that we not only were provided with the best care, but with a staff that was always thoughtful and professional. We have family members who are thinking about making a change with their primary providers and we easily recommended Healthy Families to them. It was a no-brainer for us. I can't imagine changing providers because even when the office isn't open, we can expect to have our off-hours call returned within 10 minutes! We'll be staying put.
I had to get a permit physical and my mom suggested calling there and I said NO. It's much more worth it if you need a school, permit, work, etc. physical at urgent care. It's $25-35 but you are in and out in less than 45 minutes and the doctors are better. Once I'm 18 I'm finding a new doctor.
My family and I have been going here for 6 years. Dr Cary Peterson is by far the best! Always listens to what you ask and never pressures you into anything. Always takes your beliefs and concerns into consideration.
Made us get them our records for each visit, never saw the doctor once. Left for a new PCP after 2 visits. Don't waste your time here, find a better doctor.
Doctors and nurses are nice enough but by no means professional. While I had to wait about 15 minutes for a shot, I heard nurses in the hall talking about some new patient. I finally got the shot then had to lay down for 10 more minutes (15, because the nurse was slow) I also had to wait about 10-15 in the waiting room. 45 minutes for one shot is a bit ridiculous. Even for a simple physical (with Dr. Brown) wait time is 45 minutes then a 5 minute very quick physical. God forbid I had bladder problems one day. Had me take a urine sample, then I waited about 35 minutes for the doctor to come in; ask me if I smoked or was pregnant, press on my stomach then send me home with antibacterial pills. Then I get a letter sent to my home that the "cause was unknown". Lovely. I needed a follow up exam from a hospital visit too and couldn't even get in until 2 weeks later, then the one day I saw a completely different doctor (Bernie?) who I actually liked considering she doesn't take forever and she's quick but at least somewhat thorough. Waiting 45 minutes for a five minute half assed physical is just ridiculous, I'm sorry. She asked me if I wanted to get shots now or wait until college or so, I said college. I didn't want to be in there for another half hour it had already been an hour!
I honestly wouldn't even reccomend them for anything. Even a yearly physical or a visit for a diagnosis has extremely long and unnecessary wait times. Just stay away. Either spend your well earned money going into your insurance at a nicer facility with qualified doctors or go to urgent care. Much more worth it!
