Kings Rook Club is quite possibly the best small venue for live music in the Great Lakes region. Hidden gem is an understatement. The lower stage is actually super cool; walking in feels like you just entered a secret club. Plus, the acoustics and audio are legitimately good. One of my favorite parts about Kings Room Club is the tiered seating - the type of seating you'd find in the old supper clubs from the 1950's. Think "dive bar version of Copacabana but without any dinner and great at 2am", ha! After-hours in Erie, PA can only be at Kings Rook Club. Upon entry you will be asked for your "membership card", ha, which costs about 9 bucks for the entire year; amazing! Pretty-sure they literally snail mail you a paper newsletter, too, which just adds to the whole experience. So hilarious.
A members-only club that specializes in top regional music acts, but also is a great place for hanging out and lounging.

The Rook is a great place to go for good live music. There are 2 floors. The first floor has a bar area and a stage with multiple levels seating as well as a dance area. The upstairs has a nice area to shoot pool, a smaller stage, a bar area, and a small cafe with a limited but delicious menu. Make sure you are well rested before you go as the bands don't start until 10 or 11 . You also have to be a member at the rook or be the guest of a member in order to get in
There is a nice selection of games to play, such as billiards and shuffleboard, that are free (for members).
A good selection (at various price points) of drinks does not disappoint, plus there is a short-order food menu to satisfy the munchies.
Always an interesting time. Good live music and cheap drinks. You do need a membership or someone else with one to get in.
