NEVER NEVER NEVER use this company. My overall score would be minus 10 if possible! The idea of Customer Service is totally alien to the man who runs it. Indeed, he threatened to sue me if I gave a bad review of this company!
If you EVER choose to do business with this company, READ EVERY WORD OF THE CONTRACT THAT HE SENDS YOU. Do not rely on any verbal conversation or promise. This company is disrespectful and cares nothing about repeat business.
Do not rely on any verbal conversation or promise Barnes may have made because he will repeat over and over, “you signed the contract” and that contract did not contain the correct vehicle that I requested.
I have used this service in the past. I have been very pleased with the limo provided and the service. I have become good friends with the owner since then, Matt Barnes. He is a stand up guy. I would suggest if your looking for a limo to look here first because they will treat you right and be very fair.
So, my aunt, who desperately wanted us to have a good time said, “let’s go ahead.” My brothers had to physically lift this dear lady into and out of the van and she was a trooper throughout it all. Here's a picture of what she had to endure at the various wineries.
The day before I was leaving town (and thus not have access to my computer), I thought I was finalizing the arrangements. I reminded him that we needed an 8 passenger limousine and that we had a disabled passenger. He sent a very difficult-to-read, fuzzy contract. Barnes did not listen to me and later rudely said, “I talk to hundreds of people a day, how can I remember what you asked me for?”
After contacting the owner about this and a billing issue, I got the following response:
I will not be using this service again when I am in the Northwest PA area.
Booked for an out of town guest to be driven to the airport. Last minute and great customer service!! Joel was an exceptional driver and extremely well mannered. Thanks!!!
Wish I would have read the previous reviews. Absolutely do not use this service. We needed a pick up in Erie to take us to Pittsburgh airport. Company sub-contracted to a third party service. The vehicle we were picked up in was nice, but the driver was terrible. I am not sure if he was tired or under the influence of some narcotic. He ran off the road five times and almost rear-ended a car. I use car services weekly for work, so I am comfortable with other drivers and driving in the back seat. This was not a pleasant experience. I ended up watching the driver for two hours and tried to engage in as much conversation as possible to keep him awake. I am not sure if it was his accent or he was slurring his words, but he was definitely struggling from fatigue or under the influence. On top of all of this, he had his phone in his lap and kept looking down at it causing him to swerve all over the road.
That's 8-18-2017
On August 19, we were having a small family reunion with a revered elderly aunt. I called Barnes Limo and described the situation: my aunt is in her 80s, has had a stroke and we needed a limousine for 8 that was low enough for nieces and nephews to help her in and out of the seat. He assured me that he had such a vehicle for us.
The morning of our outing, the vehicle we were presented with was a dirty, smelly, worn-out VAN. When I told Barnes that this was not what I had asked for, he rudely told me that if I cancelled, he would add another $500 charge to my credit card!
Buyer beware - this company's word and their fine print are in complete contradiction to each other. Do not take them at their word because they reserve the right to add hundreds of dollars to your bill after the fact. I spoke with Matt, who described charges and details on the phone, and billed me for something different. Then told me I could appeal to management, but guess who called immediately after I sent my email? Him. What is legal isn't always what is ethical. Prior to booking, he told me I had to pay for the limo's travel, I wasn't too keen on this, so I outright asked where the limo was located, and he told me in our hometown, no 'but it could be...' even saying that it would not be more than 30 minutes travel. Then sends a limo from another state, saying none were available where I lived. I paid $561 for 50 minutes of actual service from pickup to drop off - because the fine print says they can send them from wherever. No one called to ask if I was willing (or able) to pay this inflated amount, or would prefer to cancel. Ruined this event for us.
