This is a very educational museum. There is plenty of information on the war of 1812, the Battle of Lake Erie, tall ships, ropes, cannons, and of course the informative live tour of the Bright Niagara ship. This is a place I will recommend to all my friends visiting Erie.
Erie's Nautical History is a long journey of bizarre twists and turns. This museum is the best representation of that strange history. DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP!
Love this hidden GEM in Downtown Erie. PA, so much history and great staff on hand to help learn the past. Well stock gift shop and plenty of things to buy for family and friends!
Great museum! Great coverage and exhibits on the Battle of Lake Erie. The museum also has extensive exhibits on the USS Wolverine, which was assembled locally. As much as I enjoyed the exhibits it was the volunteer guides that made it a unique experience. Their knowledge and enthusiasm was greatly appreciated.
Great place to learn about the maritime history of the Erie area. Lots of interesting exhibits and things to do. There is a small place to eat at this location but it isn't open all the time and doesn't have a great selection. I didn't take off a star because you don't go to a museum to eat. However if you are planning on going, plan to grab a bite to eat before or after. There are lots of places near by.
