Awesome!! Definitely stop in for a visit if you're in the area. Plan on spending an hour or two depending on the crowd. Engaging exhibits great for kids. Nice gift shop if even a little pricey. Didn't get a chance to check out the cafe. The jog up to the observation platform is worth it.
I enjoyed both the information and the presentation here. The history and natural environment of Presque Isle is fascinating to me. This was my favorite destination while visiting Erie.
The Tom Ridge Center is a great asset to Erie, PA. A combined natural history museum, oberservation tower, movie theater showing environmental short films, as well as a café and art gallery/gift shop-- it is a must stop for any visitors to Erie and Presque Isle.
Beautiful center, amazing presentations and LOTS of fun learning for all ages. Go. You'll kick yourself if you dont.
Small, but a place you have to go to at some point if you live in the Erie area. Worth a quick visit for tourists if you want to learn about the area, but not a must. Admission is free, and there are a lot of fun exhibits. I used to go here when I was young to watch nature documentaries with my cousin and Grandpa when my mom would go to the outlet mall in Grove City, and we would always have such a great time!
TREC also doubles as the main visitor's center for the city of Erie and carries a lot of materials on local attractions, restaurants, shopping and lodging.
