Two and one half hour drive from Pittsburgh area to Erie, PA. Our usual first stop? George's of course. Fabulous Crab Bisque. Great sandwiches, pleasant atmosphere, VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE. An Erie must stop. Check hours, they are closed in the eve of and Mondays.
Food is alright. Customer satisfaction is horrible. Served an extremely salty soup and asked if we can get a new soup made with less salt. Normally in restaurants, they would remove the price from the bill, remake it, or allow the customer to get something else of equal value. Instead, they were going to charge for another soup and wouldn't remove the soup from the bill. It is not our fault that the soup turned out horrible. All we wanted was something else instead they were going to continue charging us. Be warned, if your food isn't well made then they will charge you additionally for a substitute.
Great food and atmosphere.Friendly staff and has been there for 91 yrs.so they are doing something right
The food here is very very good, no matter what you order. Today we had their sweet potato pancakes.
