It just might be the tastiest fish I've ever had. It is fried to perfection, and the service is just as excellent as the food. The man who served us was so friendly and engaging - other restaurants could learn a thing or two from Hook's!
Best fried okra and fish I've had this far North. Good prices. Owner is very friendly, and the restaurant is very clean. Can't wait to come back.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, and isn't fancy on the inside, but the fish is tremendous. Tastes fresh and fried to order. It's a thin breading/coating and you get a nice piece of fish - not a big chunk of batter, and even though it's deep fried - it is not greasy. Will be back for some more excellent fish.
The catfish is EXCELLENT. SUPERB! Also the fried okra is good and so is the Walleye.
Hot, fresh, large portions, it comes with fries and bread. Drinks are separate from the cooler by the cash register. This is a simple place, well-run, no nonsense.
Small, busy, interior with great art on the walls, TV is on, lots of people waiting for food pick up. Pretty steady lunch crowd, dont be surprised if there is nowhere to sit, many people get their food to go.
Cash only, ask for tartar if you need it.
